Market Data Management
Check Exchange Ratio for Currency Translation
FSCM – Treasury & Risk Management – Basic Functions – Market Data Management – Master Data – Currencies – Check Exchange Ratio for Currency Translation
Enter currency Exchange Ratio
It is entered for each exchange rate type and currency pair
Where an alternate Exchange Rate type is entered for a currency pair, system will use that
We will use the System delivered ratios
For USD to EUR when Exchange Rate type is ‘M’ system will still use EURX exchange ratio. We will delete Alt exchange rate so that system used Exchange Rate type ‘M’ for USD to EUR conversion
Define Leading Currency
IMG: TRM – Transaction Manager – Currencies – Define Leading Currency
Explanation: The exchange rate expresses the amount in the following currency for one unit of the leading currency.
Now create an FX spot transaction. Spot rate for EUR to USD here will be based on leading currency. As leading currency is EUR rate is 1 EUR = following currency (USD)
Spot Rate entered is 1,2 (1 EUR = 1,2 usd). System rate comes correctly as 1,1 (1 EUR = 1,1 USD)
If we select check box “Invert” system rate is displayed as 1 USD = EUR (leading currency). It comes as .8 correctly as below.
